Ground Floor
The historic Downshire Suite comprises of three characterful rooms overlooking the tranquil gardens that surround the Castle. The rooms can be privately hired for a variety of professional and social events. The adaptable space offered within provides a blank canvas on which to create a personalised setting for your event that will impress and inspire your guests.
The Downshire Suite encompasses the Salisbury Room, Mayors Parlour and Conservatory and is located on the ground floor offering easy disabled access.
Flexibility
Hertford Castle offers a selection of corporate rooms for exclusive use, or they may be independently hired as single rooms. We can accommodate your requirements whether it be a small meeting or a larger event for up to 50 guests seated or 100 guests standing.
It is also important to be easily accessible for your busy guests, and Hertford Castle is an ideal venue, strategically located within reach of fast capital rail connections and set within easy access of the M25, M11 & A10 and London Airports.

The Salisbury Room
This room provides an impressive ambience and is flooded with natural light from its grand period sash windows, with views over the manicured Castle gardens.
The Salisbury Room can cater for a variety of corporate events and provides a great setting for a boardroom meeting (maximum 28), theatre style presentation (maximum 48) or cabaret setting (Maximum 24) depending on the requirements.
The Mayor's Parlour
If you are hosting an event that requires a bit more intimacy, then the Mayor's Parlour is a stylish environment with traditional features, including a magnificent stately fireplace and elegant oval boardroom table than can seat up to 10, alternatively 24 can comfortably be accommodated for a theatre style presentation.
However, should you wish to extend your space for events such as team building or corporate away day, The Mayor's Parlour is also an interlinking room with the Salisbury Room creating additional capacity.
The Conservatory
The beautiful glass Victorian conservatory is an enchanting sun room that overlooks the ancient walled Castle gardens.
Providing a light airy space with comfortable seating, the room is heated, providing a perfect space all year round that can be used for a separate area for registration or as a break out room.
First Floor Robing Room
Located on the second floor the Robing Room offers a creative space full of character and charm, dominated by the natural beauty of the 15th Century exposed brick and timber built wall, echoing the historic architecture. At the grandeur of its corporate table 20 guests can be comfortably welcomed in a formal setting, but this interesting room housing a variety of historic curiosities is also perfect for hosting an informal drinks and canape reception.
The Robing Room is reached by a striking circular staircase and due to the nature of the building there is no lift access to the first floor.
